Paul J. VanHorn age 73 of Batesville died Friday, October 4, 2013 at his home. He was born April 7, 1940 at Bunney, Arkansas to Lee and Willie Ann Maddox VanHorn. He was a retired heavy equipment operator, former owner of P.J.’s Lawn Care, and a member of the Cushman Missionary Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Willie VanHorn; one son, Mark VanHorn and one brother, Vernon VanHorn. Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Juanita Faye VanHorn of the home; two sons, Paul Wayne VanHorn and wife Debbie of Cushman; Michael Douglas VanHorn and wife Ruby of Batesville; one daughter, Victoria Turner and husband Brad of Batesville; one brother, Thomas VanHorn of Salado; two sisters, Violet Cox of Cushman and Vera Jo Hillhouse of Rockford, Illinois; twelve grandchildren; five great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will begin Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at the Qualls Batesville Funeral Service Chapel in Batesville with Bro. Steve Gunther and Bro. Jerry Montgomery officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery located near Cushman with arrangements by Qualls Batesville Funeral Service of Batesville. Visitation will be Monday, October 7, 2013 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Pallbearers will be Anthony VanHorn, Robert VanHorn, Colter VanHorn, Heather VanHorn, Ryan VanHorn, Scott VanHorn and Jacob Cochran. Honorary pallbearers are James VanHorn, Josh VanHorn, Bradley E. VanHorn, Bryan Turner, Derek Jones and Kyle Anderson.
