Edna "Mema" Koonce

Edna “Mema” Koonce age 91 of Mountain View died Monday, October 14, 2013 at her home. She was born April 23, 1922 at Blytheville, Arkansas to Elbert and Oma Williams. She was a homemaker and a member of the Mount Joy Church in Mountain View. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Earnest Koonce; one son, Wayne Koonce; two daughters, Shirley McDaniels and Patsy Alexander; one brother; four sisters; three grandchildren, Marty Koonce, Jacqueline Boren and Jim Alexander and one great granddaughter, Carrie McDaniels. Survivors include one son, Roger Koonce of Mountain View; four daughters, Earnestine Griffin, Marilyn Boren and Karen Wolf all of Mountain View and Barbara Tidwell of Jonesboro; one sister, Deloris Smith of Jackson, Mississippi; twelve grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren; twelve great great grandchildren; a granddaughter in her heart, Crystal Chevalley; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Graveside services will be Thursday, October 17, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at the Dogwood Cemetery located in Blytheville with Bro. Gaylon England and Bro. Truman Bullard officiating. Arrangements by Qualls Batesville Funeral Service of Batesville. Visitation will be Wednesday October 16, 2013 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Marcus Wolf, Jason Boren, Michael Alexander, Spencer Alexander and Bill McDaniels. Honorary pallbearers are Ray Hicks, Kent McDaniels and Jeff McDaniels.
