Ted Farris age 84 of Sidney died Monday, October 28, 2013 at a Batesville nursing home. He was born April 20, 1929 at Myron, Arkansas to John L. and Estel (Tadlock) Farris. He was a retired farmer, a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, Claude Farris, Coy Farris, Bob Farris, Eddie Farris and Floyd Farris and two sisters, Amie Grimes and Mamie Couch. Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Peggy Russ Farris; two sons, Barry Farris of Beebe and Brett Farris of Batesville; four grandchildren, Belinda Davis of Rogers, Jacob Farris of Sidney, Josh Farris of Greenbrier and Candace Farris of Greenbrier; seven great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will begin Thursday, October 31, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at the Qualls Funeral Home Chapel in Cave City with Jack Richardson officiating. Burial will follow in the Wiles Cemetery located at Ash Flat with arrangements by Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City. Visitation will be Wednesday, October 30, 2013 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the Qualls Funeral Home in Cave City. Pallbearers will be Jacob Farris, Josh Farris, Brad Davis, Tony Farris, Donzie Spurlock and J.C. Qualls.
