Bennie Adams age 69 of Heber Springs (formerly of Evening Shade) died Thursday, October 31, 2013 at his home. He was born January 2, 1944 at Batesville, Arkansas to Benjamin Franklin and Audley (Claxton) Adams. He was a retired school teacher and high school principal having served at Evening Shade, Dermott and Poughkeepsie. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, U.S. Air Force and Air National Guard. He was a member of the Heber Springs Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers, Wendell Adams, Wilbur Adams, Doug Adams and Donald Adams. Survivors include his wife of 47 years Sharon Meeker Adams of the home; two sons, Kenneth Adams and wife Natalie of Conway and Charles Adams of Alexander; four grandchildren, Tucker Adams, Caitlyn Adams, Autumn Adams and Cayden Adams all of Conway; several nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will begin Saturday, November 2, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at the Qualls Batesville Funeral Service Chapel in Batesville with Bill Pratt officiating. Burial will follow in the Maxville Cemetery located at Cave City with arrangements by Qualls Batesville Funeral Service of Batesville. Visitation will be Saturday, November 2, 2013 from 1:00 p.m. until service time. Pallbearers are Christopher Erwin, Wendell Adams, Michael Rodriguez, Justin Meeker, Tucker Adams and Steven Hurst. Honorary pallbearers are Loyd Campbell, Ken Gann, J. Ray Toland, John Endsley, Guy Porterfield, Ryan Adams, Doug Adams and Ed Stormes.
