George “Junior” Wright age 86 of Cave City went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at his home. He was born March 21, 1927 in the Needmore Community in Izard County to Thomas M. and Cora Ford Wright. He was a graduate of the Missionary Baptist Seminary in Little Rock and was a retired Missionary Baptist Minister with 50 years of service. He was the former pastor of Park Missionary Baptist Church in Prescott, Salem Missionary Baptist Church in Judsonia, First Missionary Baptist Church in Coloma, Michigan, Landmark Missionary Baptist Church in Kansas City, Kansas, and Mount View Missionary Baptist Church in Cave City. He was a U. S. Navy Veteran of WWII. He was a member of the First Missionary Baptist Church in Cave City. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Ewell Wright, Tommy Wright and infant brother, Henry James Wright and five sisters, Faye Williams Garner, Mae Johnson McGuffey, Mona Qualls, Drinon Smith and Johnnie Hill. Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Joyce Finley Wright of the home; two sons, James “Jim” Wright of Piqua, Ohio and George David Wright of Lawrence, Kansas; two daughters, Loretta Brewer of Jonesboro and Rachel Kaye Bettis of Kansas City, Missouri; three sisters, twin sister, Jewell Durham of Woodbine, Georgia, Lottie Ryder of Garden City, Kansas and Odessa Simmons of Kansas City, Kansas; 11 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be Sunday, December 8, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Missionary Baptist Church in Cave City with Bro. Ron Canard, Bro. Boyce Johnson and Bro. George David Wright officiating. Burial will follow in the Antioch Cemetery located near Zion with arrangements by Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City. Visitation will be Saturday, December 7, 2013 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the Qualls Funeral Home Chapel in Cave City. Pallbearers will be Cory Bettis, Eric Brewer, Cody Wright, Tim Wright, James C. Wright and Larry Brewer. Honorary pallbearers are Tommy Masner, Ronnie Lewallen and all pastors of ABA churches and their wives.
