Lewellan “Skip” Franks age 80 of Evening Shade died Tuesday, December 17, 2013 at a Batesville hospital. He was born July 1, 1933 at Caraway, Arkansas to Leroy and Ruby Jewell (Collins) Franks. He was a retired construction worker and a U.S. Army veteran. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Leon Edrington. Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Euna Mae Qualls Franks of the home; one son, Eric Franks and wife Patty of Tuscumbia, Missouri; one daughter, Renee Spurlock and husband Randy of Evening Shade; one sister Ann Franks of Missouri; three grandchildren, Andy Spurlock and wife Aaryn of Bono, Ben Franks and Ethan Franks both of Tuscumbia, Missouri; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be Thursday, December 19, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at the Qualls Funeral Home Chapel in Cave City with Barry Wilkes officiating. Burial will follow in the Evening Shade Cemetery located at Evening Shade with arrangements by Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City. Visitation will be Wednesday, December 18, 2013 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Kenny Duncan, Travis Dickerson, Kenny Love, Ronnie Guinnip, Frankie Dickerson, J.T. Duncan, Wayne Muston and Allen Reding. Honorary pallbearers are Paul Humbrecht, Dr. Charles Tucker and James Flynn.
