Johnnie G. Allen

Johnnie G. Allen age 79 of Batesville died Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at his home. He was born June 24, 1934 at Bethesda, Arkansas to Joseph Frank and Martha Jane (Langston) Allen. He was a retired automotive mechanic having been employed at Stanley Wood Chevrolet-Pontiac in Batesville for 40 years. He was a U. S. Army veteran and a member of the North Heights Church of Christ in Batesville. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Joe Allen. Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Leota Allen of the home; one daughter, Kathy Ried of Batesville; two brothers, Jess Allen and Hale Allen both of Batesville; two grandchildren, Maggie Ried and Lucas Ried both of Batesville; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Graveside services will be Saturday, January 11, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at the Campground Cemetery located at Bethesda with Roger Ried officiating. Arrangements by Qualls Batesville Funeral Service of Batesville. Visitation will be Friday, January 10, 2014 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Honorary pallbearers will be Kenny Allen, Mike Allen, Chris Allen, Cheri Harmon, Vicki Reed, Camille Beary, David Harmon, Larry Price and Pam Cross.
