Leslie Shane age 65 of Batesville died Sunday January 12, 2014 at a Little Rock hospital. He was born March 24, 1948 at Batesville, Arkansas to Homer and Ann McDougal Shane. He was retired from the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department after 38 years of service. He was a U. S. Army veteran. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and spending time with his family. He was a faithful and devoted member of the Ramsey Heights Missionary Baptist Church located at Batesville. He was preceded in death by his father. Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Janis Curtis Shane of the home; one son, Randy Shane and wife Jamie of Batesville; two daughters, Tonya Johnson and husband Kevin of Batesville and Ashley Brickey and husband Jason of Batesville; his mother, Ann Shane of Searcy; two sisters, Barbara Ann Nicholson of Searcy and Patricia Meharg of Cabot; eight grandchildren, Taryn Hubbard and husband Dustin, Jordan Shane, Ryan Shane, Jonathan Shane, Jacob Shane, Austin Johnson, Seth Brickey and Shane Brickey all of Batesville; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at the Ramsey Heights Missionary Baptist Church located at Batesville with Bro Aaron Maxwell, Bro. Mike Ball and Bro. Anders Lee officiating. Burial will follow in the Kyler Cemetery located at Southside with arrangements by Qualls Batesville Funeral Service of Batesville. Visitation will be Tuesday, January 14, 2014 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the Ramsey Heights Missionary Baptist Church. Pallbearers will be Jay McDougal, Bryan Dickey, Jim Walker, Clint Emfinger, Ed Thompson and Danny Watson. Honorary pallbearers are Larry Koder, Finis Barnes and Rick Curtis.
