Ervin E. Barnett age 86 of Batesville died Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at the Cave City Nursing Home. He was born July 23, 1927 at Sandtown, Arkansas to Robert A. and Dora (Perrin) Barnett. He was a retired farmer and a U.S. Army veteran, having served in the Korean War. The youngest of eight children, he was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, Emmett Barnett, Elijah Barnett, Clyde Barnett, Clifford Barnett and Kenneth Barnett; two sisters, Lydia Palmer and Zela Hawkins Frazier. Survivors include his wife, Vada (Palmer) Barnett; two sons, Raymond Barnett and his wife Charlotte of Cave City, and Johnny Barnett and his wife Mary Ann of Forrest City; four grandchildren, Ramona Leddy, Rodney Barnett and Brian Barnett, all of Cave City, and Philip Barnett of Forrest City; six great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be Saturday, January 18, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at the Qualls Batesville Funeral Service Chapel in Batesville with Bro. Don Turner and Bro. Richard Hawkins officiating. Burial will follow in the Lee’s Chapel Cemetery located at Sandtown with arrangements by Qualls Batesville Funeral Service of Batesville. Visitation will be Friday, January 17, 2014 from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Rodney Barnett, Brian Barnett, Philip Barnett, Sean Leddy, Melvin Hawkins and Dwight Barnett. Honoray pallbearers are his nephews, Alvin, Alton, Hickmon, Terry, Darrel, Dennis, Charles, Troyce, Robert, Leonard, Larry, Jerry and William.
