Helen Crafton age 88 of Batesville died Wednesday, January 29, 2014 at a Batesville nursing home. She was born January 24, 1926 in Independence County to Felix and Stella Dale Tate. She was a homemaker and a member of the Southside United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Morris Crafton; two brothers, T.J. Tate and Eulis Tate and two sisters, Nove Demster and Willa Mae Winkle. Survivors include two sons, Harold Crafton and wife Connie of Mt. Pleasant and Larry Crafton and wife Carolyn of Batesville; two brothers, Dean Tate of Batesville and Kenneth Tate of Mt. Pleasant; one sister, Betty West of Batesville; a half brother, Eddie Tate of Batesville; a half sister, Veda White of Batesville; three grandchildren, Sonya Crafton, Randall Crafton and Jason Crafton all of Batesville; two great grandsons, Rhett Crafton and Reed Crafton both of Batesville; two great granddaughters, Shelby Crafton and Michaela Crafton both of Batesville; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be Friday, January 31, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Qualls Batesville Funeral Service Chapel in Batesville with Bro. Alan West officiating. Burial will follow in the Oaklawn Cemetery located at Batesville with arrangements by Qualls Batesville Funeral Service of Batesville. Visitation will be Friday, January 31, 2014 from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Randall Crafton, Jason Crafton, Shayne Gaither, Bill Lewis, Russell Hughes and Rhett Crafton.
