Joe L. Sherrill age 88 of Heber Springs died Monday, February 10, 2014 at a Heber Springs hospital. He was born October 30, 1925 at Cave City, Arkansas to Allie and Josephine Jones Sherrill. He was a journeyman lineman for 42 years having worked for L.E. Myers and Union Electric. He was a member of IBEW Local 309 in Collinsville, Illinois. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII. He was a member of the American Legion in Heber Springs and a Lifetime Member of the VFW in O’Fallon, Illinois. He was of the Protestant faith. He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Patricia Lynn Trame; three brothers, Wes Sherrill, Cleo Sherrill and Addie Sherrill and three sisters, Fannie Brashers, Madge Powell and Therline Frost. Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Wanda Millspaugh Sherrill of the home; one son, Bobby Joe Sherrill of Fairway, Kansas; one daughter, Reggie Burress of Collinsville, Illinois; two sisters, Stella Mae Hebblethwaite of Springfield, Missouri and Florence Fleeman of Puxico, Missouri; five grandchildren, Denise Caldwell, Delaine Crossley, Scott Foster, Amanda Huffman and Brent Trame; six great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be Thursday, February 13, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at the Qualls Batesville Funeral Service Chapel in Batesville with Tommy Boles officiating. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery located at Batesville with arrangements by Qualls Batesville Funeral Service of Batesville. Visitation will be Thursday, February 13, 2014 from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Jerry Millspaugh, Randy Long, Don Jones, Tim Jones, Darrel Liles and Jim McDonald.
