Daurice Norton

Daurice Norton age 85 of Drasco died Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at her home. She was born March 11, 1928 at Superior, Nebraska to Earl Newton and Alice Louise Thompson Barker. She was a homemaker and of the Christian faith. She had taught school in a one room school house in Nebraska, sang with a quartet in Bible college and gave piano and music lessons to many children over the years. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, J.U. Norton and four sisters, Janet Stair, Frances Barber, Sylvia Baine and Linda Koivula. Survivors include one son Dr. Morgan Norton and his wife Rachel of Batesville; two daughters, Ellen Duke of Little Rock and Kimberly Barks of Drasco; one sister, Patricia Mikolajek of Tempe, Arizona; three grandchildren, Sadie Duke and Silas Duke both of Little Rock and Jacob Norton of Batesville; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Graveside services will be Sunday, February 23, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. at the Oak Grove Cemetery located at Wolf Bayou with Bro. Wade Althem officiating. Arrangements by Qualls Batesville Funeral Service of Batesville. No visitation is planned.
