Jamie Lou Lindsey age 86 of Evening Shade died peacefully in her sleep at home on Sunday, March 16, 2014. She was born in Brickle Springs, Arkansas on June 19, 1927 to Jim and Pearl Marlin. She was the devoted wife of Calvin C. Lindsey for 68 plus years. Jamie was a member of the Piney Fork Church of Christ at Evening Shade for 68 years. She loved to tend to her children. She considered them a gift from God. She loved her flowers and garden. She was also a Nurses Aid for several years. She was great at cooking and the old ways of canning. She was a talented seamstress and quilter. She was an outgoing happy hummer and yodler. She loved to dance. She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, John K. Lindsey and two brothers, Jack Marlin and Billy Marlin. Survivors include her husband of 68 years, Calvin C. Lindsey of the home; one son, Gary M. Lindsey of Cave City; one daughter, Betty (Lindsey) List-Rice of Columbia, Tennessee; one brother, Lester Marlin of Eaton, Georgia; four grandchildren, Bradley CJ List of Eastover North Carolina, Michelle R. (List) Hendrickson of Columbia, Tennessee, Lisa Booher and Jennifer Lindsey both of Logansport, Indiana; seven great-grandchildren, Elijah Hendrickson, Rachel Hendrickson, Leah Hendrickson, Hannah Hendrickson, Jonah Hendrickson all of Columbia, Tennessee, Taylor Booher and Kylee Lindsey both of Logansport, Indiana and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be Thursday, March 20, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at the Qualls Funeral Home Chapel in Cave City with Dwight Sharp officiating. Burial will follow in the Maxville Cemetery located at Cave City with arrangements by Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City. Visitation will be Wednesday, March 19, 2014 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Richard Barber, Jerry Greer, Bo Hall, Lester Mullen, Wayne Wolf and Gary Nanney.
