Maurice (Morris) Ellis Bradley age 91 departed this life on Thursday March 20, 2014 at Batesville, Arkansas. He was born on November 13, 1922 at Cord, Arkansas to Manuel Everett an Navo Elizabeth( Hatler) Bradley. Morris lived his life in Cord, except for the last two years in Batesville. On November 1, 1941, Morris married Arlene Lance and together the celebrated over 70 years of marriage. To this union, two sons were born, Royce Bradley and Randy Bradley. Morris was a retired farmer and cattleman He enjoyed cooking breakfast everyday for all who would come to his home and eat. Survivors include his wife, Arlene Lance Bradley; two sons, Royce Bradley and wife Carol and Randy Bradley and wife Betty all of Cord. Morris was also the proud grandfather (Popa) to three grandchildren, Dr. Vanessa Bradley-Shelton and husband Blair of Bedford, Texas, Jessica Brittney Bradley of Fayetteville and Tanner Lance Bradley of Jonesboro. In addition there were three special people who he spent many years with: Jerry Millspaugh who he drank coffee with and solved the world’s problems, Dr. Mary Kathryn Davis who brought him his medicine and Tim Davis who fixed his truck. Funeral services will be Monday March 24, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at the Qualls Batesville Funeral Service Chapel in Batesville with Mitch Bell officiating. Burial will follow in the Hopewell Cemetery located at Cord with arrangements by Qualls Batesville Funeral Service of Batesville. Visitation will be Sunday, March 23, 2014 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Henry Stoner, John Hall, Chuck Coe, Doug Hatler, Charles Honey and Ronnie Melton. Honorary pallbearers are Bill Melton, Gene Melton, Ronnie Melton, Brian Goff, Don Scroggins, Mike Jones and Ray Herring. The family would also like to give a special “Thank You” to his team of special caregivers: Virginia Pruett, Peggy Richmond, Sandra Mann, Emma Kever and Shirley Brucher.
