Joan Edgin age 60 of Sidney went to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 3, 2014 at her home. She was born May 30, 1953 at Marianna, Arkansas to James Milford and Daisy Rachel (Lawrence) Godfrey. She was a hairstylist for 20 years having been owner of A Cut Above Salon in Forrest City and Pfeiffer Hair Salon in Batesville. She was also former owner of Hearts and Flowers Florist in Batesville. She had also worked for Sharp Nursing Home and White River Area Agency on Aging. She had been a foster mom to 34 children, was a member of the Pfeiffer EH Club, Deer Run Park Board Member, Arkansas Florist Association, Arkansas Cosmetology Association and Beta Sigma Phi. She had also been a Sunday School teacher and youth director. She attended First Church UPC in Batesville. She was preceded in death by her father, James Milford Godfrey and one son Thomas Tilley Jr. Survivors include her husband of 25 years, Brent Edgin of the home; two sons, Brandon Tilley of Evening Shade and James Edgin of Newark; one daughter, Samantha Ramsey of Batesville; her mother, Daisy Griffis; two brothers, James Godfrey of Batesville and John Godfrey of Bethesda; six grandchildren, Caine Tilley, Izaac Tilley, Samuel Tilley, Braden Tilley, Lauren Ramsey and Abram Edgin; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be Thursday May 8, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Church UPC at Batesville with Rev. Mike Parmley and Rev. Billy McPeake officiating. Burial will follow in the Maxville Cemetery at Cave City with arrangements by Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City. Visitation will be Wednesday, May 7, 2014 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Brandon Tilley, Daniel Godfrey, Joseph Godfrey, Geremy Owens, Hank Rounds and Austin Hunter. Honorary pallbearers are Kevin Edgin, Von Edgin and Adam Owens.
