John Alfred Bransford Jr.

John Alfred Bransford Jr. age 75 of Batesville died Thursday, May 22, 2014 at a Batesville hospital. He was born July 15, 1938 at Batesville, Arkansas to John Alfred Bransford Sr. and Nora Elizabeth (Rutherford) Bransford. He was a retired bus driver for Central Arkansas Transit in Little Rock and had worked several years for Trailways and Wells Fargo. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran and attended Campground United Methodist Church at Bethesda. He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Janice Lynn Bransford and one sister, Mary Ann Reves. Survivors include his wife of 14 years, Joy Harmon Bransford of the home; one son, James Bransford of Little Rock; four daughters, Debra Paladino, Kay Horton, Cecilia Mashburn and Johnnie Gail Dill all of Little Rock; one brother, James Bransford of Little Rock; 12 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; 2 nieces and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be Tuesday, May 27, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at the Qualls Batesville Funeral Service Chapel in Batesville with Rev. Carl Hudson officiating. Burial will follow in the Campground Cemetery located at Bethesda with arrangements by Qualls Batesville Funeral Service of Batesville. Visitation will be Tuesday, May 27, 2014 from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Brian Dill Sr., Brian Dill Jr., Matthew Dill, Tyler Bransford, Joey Bransford and Paul Smith. Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Robert Walton and Dr. Raman Desikan.
