Linda Jo Stingley

April 26, 1949 — June 4, 2014

Linda Jo Stingley age 65 of Southside died Wednesday, June 4, 2014 at Batesville, AR. She was born April 26, 1949 at Ada, Oklahoma to Fred and Jo Canada. She attended school in Oakman, Oklahoma, Francis, Oklahoma and Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and nursing school in Batesville. Linda was a devout Christian. She didn’t always go to church but her Bible was always close and she studied it more than most of us. If you questioned something that was happening she replied , read the Bible it’s all there. Linda had a rough time raising four children alone, but she didn’t let anything stop her. She studied hard and got her nursing license. She worked taking care of Eagle Street until his death. She then worked at the Sidney Nursing Home, White River Area Agency on Aging, Woodlawn Nursing Home and at the time of her death she was working at Eagle Mountain Assisted Living. She loved everyone there and stated-BEST JOB EVER! Linda would help anyone she could. She helped her children all she could and never gave up on them. When they did wrong she would say they made bad choices but who hadn’t and worked to get them back on the right path. She was a loving daughter and her parents doted on her as did her grandparents who she loved dearly. Her children will remember her as the wonderful mother she was. Her grandchildren loved getting to come to “Granny’s” and especially going camping with her. She looked forward all year to their visits. She would drop everything and take a slow walk down the country road stopping to let them pick flowers, watch a bird or squirrel or whatever. They will remember all the wonderful time they spent with her and relate the memories to their children. Linda was loved by all who knew her and she loved everyone she met. Linda stepped through the gate to be met by her son Chris, into the arms of her “Daddy” and her loving Savior and a host of other relatives and friends were there to greet her. It was a great reunion and we will all see her again soon She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Grover and Nora Canada and Andy and Ruby Large; her father, Fred Canada and one son, Chris Shouse.
