Bill Melton

Bill Melton age 70 of Cord died Saturday, July 12, 2014 at his home. He was born September 20, 1943 at Cord, Arkansas to Buster and Mary (Fry) Melton. He was a retired farmer and business owner and of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his father, Buster Melton. Survivors include his wife of 24 years, Carolyn Tackett Melton of the home; his mother, Mary Melton of Cord; two daughters, Andrea Baker of Cord and Denice Heatherly of Charlotte; two step-daughters, Tina Andrade of Memphis,Tennessee and Patricia Blazer of Tuckerman; one brother, Gene Austin Melton of Cord; two sisters, Nedra Mae Forester of Galt, California and Nina Faye Porter of Wichita, Kansas; two grandchildren, Anna Heatherly of Cord and Ben Baker of Cord; four step-grandchildren, Kristi Poe of Newport, John McCloud, Josh McCloud and Amber McCloud all of Memphis,Tennessee; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be Tuesday, July 15, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at the Philadelphia Missionary Baptist Church located at Dowdy with Bro. Tracy Grissom officiating. Burial will follow in the Philadelphia Cemetery located at Dowdy with arrangements by Qualls Batesville Funeral Service of Batesville. Visitation will be Tuesday, July 15, 2014 from 12:00 noon until service time at the church. Pallbearers will be Ronnie Lindsey, Aaron Turner, Randy Bradley, Tanner Bradley, Cody Melton and Justin Melton. Honorary pallbearers are John Conner Jr. and Max Felts.
