Marilyn Ford Sullivan age 85 passed away Thursday, September 4, 2014 at Spring Creek Health and Rehabilitation Center in Cabot, Arkansas. She was born July 18, 1929 in Cave City, Arkansas to Howard B. Ford and Lillie Burrow Ford. She was a lifelong resident of Cave City before going to the center in Cabot a year ago. She was a faithful member of the Cave City Church of Christ from a very early age. She was a loving wife and mother and in her later years a teacher in the Cave City School District. She touched the lives of many young people, teaching the first grade for 22 years. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. In her spare time she enjoyed gardening, sewing, cooking and reading. Preceding her in death were her husband of 57 years, Patrick Sullivan; an infant daughter, Janet Ann Sullivan; her parents, Howard and Lillie Ford; a grandson,Steven Patrick Bates; her sister, Mabel Sinele; and her two brothers, Henry Ford and Bill Ford. Mrs. Sullivan is survived by her four children; son, Con Sullivan and wife Barbara of Beebe; daughters, Patricia Bates and husband Gary of El Dorado; Kay Hendrickson of Strawberry and Dana Smith and husband Stephen of College Station, Texas; eight grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be Saturday, September, 6, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at the Cave City Church of Christ with Bro. Dean Fugett officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery on Grange Rd. east of Cave City with arrangements by Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City. Visitation will be Saturday, September 6, 2014 from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the church. Pallbearers will be Mike Walling, Marc Walling, Jeral Hastings, Dean Hastings and Phillip Fugett. Honorary pallbearers are her grandsons, John Sullivan, Robert Hendrickson, Alan Bates, Evan Smith and Ethan Smith. Memorials may be made to the Children’s Home at Paragould or the Cave City Church of Christ.
