Ben Horace Sewell age 51 passed away on Monday, October 6, 2014 after a long battle with cancer. Ben was born on October 14, 1962 in Dallas, Texas to Hancel and Mauverine Sewell. He spent his childhood in Dallas, Ohio and Arkansas. Ben loved fishing and sitting by the pond. He was a person who enjoyed nature and the serenity of the outdoors. As a young man he enjoyed and participated with his brother Jodie in dirt bike racing. Ben was a very good student and was a member of the National Honor Society at Southside High School in Batesville. He was also voted class favorite in the 11th grade. He worked with his dad at Sewell Construction. At one time, Ben was employed by Ken Myer Co. in Conway as a upholstery specialist. Ben had many friends and loved his family very much. He was preceded in death by his brother, Jodie Sewell and his parents, Hancel and Mauverine Sewell. Ben is survived by the love of his life and best friend, Jane Strother of Cave City; sister, Marcie Lynn Sewell Soto and husband Abel of Dallas, Texas; niece, Lori Ann Anderson of Cave City and her son, Jesse Dorris and his wife, Kayla and children Kiya, and Callen of Cherokee Village. Memorial services will be held Wednesday, October 8, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. at the Qualls Batesville Funeral Service Chapel in Batesville with Jesse Dorris officiating. Arrangements by Qualls Batesville Funeral Service of Batesville. Visitation will be Wednesday, October 8, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. Honorary pallbearers are Abel Soto, Roger Schnyer, Jesse Dorris, Robert Davis and Mark Dyier.
