Maxine Joan Combs age 79 of Dardanelle (formerly of Batesville) died Friday, October 17, 2014 at a Russellville hospital. She was born November 2, 1934 at Seattle, Washington to Wesley Marcus and Alma Frances (Nall) Combs. She was a chef for the Batesville Country Club for 26 years and was a member of the Sunny Gap Baptist Church at Conway. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Raymond Wesley Combs; one sister, Bonnie Lee Turner; one brother-in-law, Thomas Edward Turner and one great nephew, Thomas Rogers. Survivors include one daughter, Jolene Ware and husband Gerald of Dardanelle; four grandchildren, Zack Ware and Kyle Ware both of Russellville; Brittney Ellis of Dardanelle and Deanah Smith of Ward; two great grandchildren, Brantley Dean Williams and Lynnleigh Renee Smith both of Ward; one niece, Alma Lee Clark and husband Jerry Dale of Mountain Home; one great niece, Laura Lee Tolleson and husband Randy of Mountain Home; one great great nephew, William Tolleson; one great great niece, Kate Tolleson; and a host of other relatives and friends. Graveside services will be Tuesday, October 21, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at the Roselawn Memorial Gardens located at Batesville with Chaplain David Rohr officiating. Arrangements by Qualls Batesville Funeral Service of Batesville. No visitation is planned. Honorary pallbearers are Gerald Ware, Jerry Clark, Patrick Ellis, Chris Yingling, Kyle Ware, Zack Ware and Jerold “J.L.” Ware.
