Adrian Wood

Adrian Wood age 88 of Pleasant Plains died Saturday, October 25, 2014 at his home. He was born February 8, 1926 at Oil Trough, Arkansas to Jessie L. and Mary Ellen (Pitts) Wood. He was a teacher and coach, a retired poultry farmer, and a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII. He was a member of the Union Grove Missionary Baptist Church at Pleasant Plains. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Zelma (Williams) Wood; and seven brothers, Clarence Wood, Theodore Wood, Carlon Wood, Leroy Wood, Lester Wood, Olen Wood and Vernon Wood. Survivors include several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at the Union Grove Missionary Baptist Church at Pleasant Plains with Bro. Verlon Wood, Bro. Daryl Sellers and Bro. Shannon Fennell officiating. Burial will follow in the Union Grove Cemetery located at Pleasant Plains with arrangements by Qualls Batesville Funeral Service of Batesville. Visitation will be Monday, October 27, 2014 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Leonard Wood, Bub Wood, Morris Wood, Scott Gay, Eric Reaper and Matt Martin. Honorary pallbearer is Dr. Robert Walton.
