Alfred Rogers age 101 of Ash Flat died Friday, November 21, 2014 at his home. He was born October 28, 1913 at Ash Flat, Arkansas to Lindsey and Sarah Ann (Estes) Rogers. He was a farmer, a rural mail carrier, a school bus driver and a bookkeeper for Jackson Auto Parts. He was a member of the Corinth United Methodist Church at Ash Flat. He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Montez Rogers; four brothers, Mark Rogers, Noel Rogers, Otis Rogers and Curtis Rogers; three sisters, Cora Spurlock, Clara Long and Dora Beth Rogers; one grandson, Chad Oliver; one great granddaughter, Camillia Oliver and one great grandson, Josh Davis. Survivors include his wife of 74 years and 10 months, Mattie Mae (Layne) Rogers of the home; one son Gary Rogers and wife Ruth of Ash Flat; one daughter, Dolly Nicholson and husband Rex of Ash Flat; eight grandchildren; twenty- two great grandchildren; sixteen great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at the Ash Flat Church of Christ with Tommy Boles, Jack Richardson and Johnny Carter officiating. Burial will follow in the Wiles Cemetery located at Ash Flat with arrangements by Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City. Visitation will be Monday, November 24, 2014 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the church. Pallbearers will be Roger Nicholson, Randy Nicholson , Regan Nicholson, Greg Foreman, Jonathon Boyer, Dustin Rogers, Lance Humphries and Brad Gitz.
