Nelda Gay (Jones) Criman age 75 of Batesville died Wednesday, November 26, 2014 in a Batesville hospital. She was born August 14, 1939 in the Pfeiffer Community to Raymond (Barney) L. and Edith Fay (Mallett) Jones. She loved life, her children, grandchildren and family. She opened her home to many women in need and after supervising Dealers-Fleets retired from the Sedgwick County Tag Office in Wichita, Kansas. She was also a member the singing group “Sweet Adelines.” Survivors include two daughters, Sharon Epperson of Wichita, Kansas and Donna Cole of Batesville; two brothers, Mylus Dwayne Jones and Freddie Doyle Jones both of Batesville; one sister Jaqueta Fern Smith of Salt Lake City, Utah; three grandchildren, Shala Dawn Buckner of Liberty Township, Ohio , Dominic C. Cole of Wichita, Kansas and Evan William Epperson of Lawrence, Kansas; two great grandchildren, Stella Buckner and Harper Buckner; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Martin Leon Foster; a daughter, Lynda Gayle Phipps-Seeley; several brothers and one sister. There are no funeral services planned.
