Laura D. Baker age 44 of Maumelle (formerly of Sandtown) died Friday, December 19, 2014 at a Batesville hospital. She was born August 19, 1970 at Corpus Christi, Texas to Thomas Josiah and Barbara (Neal) Baker. She was a social worker and a Christian. She was a 1993 graduate of Lyon College in Batesville with a Bachelors Degree in Social Work. She was preceded in death by her father, Thomas Josiah Baker and her stepfather, Cleburn Hastings. Survivors include her mother, Barbara Hastings of Cave City; four daughters, Jennifer Mansfield of Searcy, Rebecca Brewer of Glenwood, Laura Mansfield of Jacksonville and Amy Warden of Ward; one brother, Tommy Baker of Jacksonville; one stepbrother, C.J. Hastings of Las Vegas, Nevada; two step-sisters, Bernita James of Cave City and Lanita Wasson of Little Rock; one granddaughter, Isabella Brewer of Glenwood; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Assembly of God Church in Cave City with Bro. Bobby Sanders and Bro. David Insell officiating. Burial will follow in the Lee’s Chapel Cemetery located at Sandtown with arrangements by Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City. Visitation will be Tuesday, December 23, 2014 from 12:00 until 2:00 p.m. at the church. Pallbearers will be Dean Hastings, Jason Hastings, Gary Richardson, Donnie Presser, Tony Carter and Keith Hastings.
