Thurlow Dean “Boe” Branscum age 85 of Batesville died Thursday, January 1, 2015 at a Searcy hospital. He was born July 10, 1929 in Rosie, Arkansas to Elbert and Nettie Pearl (Green) Branscum. He enjoyed the simple country life, the great outdoors and tinkering on anything with a motor. He enjoyed spending time with his family and loved a home cooked meal. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Edward Branscum; one sister, Irene Lucy and an infant son. Survivors include four sons, Ricky Branscum of Newark, Russell Branscum of Marcella, Michael Branscum of Southside and Roy Branscum of Cord; two daughters, Paula Ford of Newark and Peggy Wood of Longbeach, Mississippi; four brothers, Clarence Branscum of Hutchinson Mountain, Richard Branscum of Magness, Billy Branscum and Finis Branscum both of Salado; one sister Dorothy Ferguson of Salado; nineteen grandchildren, Dawn Gregory, Rachel Brown, Lucas Branscum, Rusty Branscum, Jessica Branscum, Jerod Branscum, Chantel Wood, David Branscum, Emily Young, Ashley Altom, Bethany Allison, Dan Ford, Crystal Herold, Theresa Young, Thomas Branscum, Anastasia Wood, Keghlea Wood, Sean Branscum and Taylor Passmore; many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at the Maple Springs Missionary Baptist Church located near Rosie with Bro. Curt Howard officiating. Burial will follow in the Maple Springs Cemetery with arrangements by Qualls Batesville Funeral Service of Batesville. Visitation will be Monday, January 5, 2015 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Adam Branscum, Luke Branscum, Thomas Branscum, Mark Beckham, William Branscum and Alvin Branscum. Honorary pallbearers are Sean Branscum, David Branscum and Rusty Branscum.
