Ellen Kirkley

Ellen Kirkley age 91 of Evening Shade (formerly of Reno, Nevada) died Monday, February 16, 2015 at an Ash Flat nursing home. She was born October 25, 1923 in Los Angeles, California to Alfred and Ruth (Norton) McFarlin. She was retired from Nevada Energy having worked in the claims department, was a member of the DAR , was a Rainbow Girl and was a volunteer at St. Mary’s Hospital all in Reno, Nevada. She was a member of the First Baptist Church at Evening Shade. She was preceded in death by her parents: her husband, John W. Kirkley; one son, John A. Kirkley; and one sister, Peggy Wiseman. Survivors include one daughter, Nancy Weaver of Evening Shade; three grandchildren, Nathan Marlin of Cave City, Gavin Franke of Batesville and Natalie Marlin of Little Rock; one great granddaughter, Abri Franke of Cave City; and a host of other relatives and friends. Memorial services will be Thursday, February 19, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Evening Shade with Bro. Larry Weaver officiating. Interment will be in the Masonic Memorial Gardens and Mausoleum in Reno, Nevada at a later date. Arrangements by Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City. No visitation is planned.
