Lewis Kling

June 18, 1941 — April 6, 2015

Lewis Kling age 73 of Batesville died Monday, April 6, 2015 at his home surrounded by his wife and children. He was born June 18, 1941 at Alexander, Arkansas to A. P. and Roberta Spann Kling. He owned and operated North Arkansas Door Company from 1977 until his retirement in 2005. He was a U. S. Navy Veteran having served in Vietnam on the USS Hancock, Carrier Airgroup 15. He was a member and deacon of Vine Street Missionary Baptist Church in Batesville. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Shelly Duncan; his parents; four brothers, Robert Kling, Thomas Kling, Ray Kling and James Kling ;six sisters, Rose “Sis” Polk, Emma Kling, Anita Harris, Elise “Pinky” Pruett, LaVada Gambill and Ruby Beggs. Survivors include his wife O. Jane Kling of the home; two sons, Kevin Kling of Desha and Phillip Kling of Batesville; one daughter, Melissa Stout and husband Marcus of Cave City; five grandchildren, Devin Kling and Destiny Kling both of Desha, Ethan Evans, Darin Evans and Nathan Stout all of Cave City; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 9, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at the Qualls Funeral Home Chapel in Cave City with Bro. Tony Moser officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery located east of Cave City with arrangements by Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City. Visitation will be Wednesday, April 8, 2015 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Larry Bolin, James Crafton, Jay Joplin, Gaylin Hatfield, Devin Kling, Ethan Evans, Darin Evans and Nathan Stout.
