Donald R. Plautz Sr.

Donald R. Plautz Sr. age 80 of Concord died Monday, May 11, 2015 at his home. He was born February 14, 1935 at Erie, Pennsylvania to Howard C. and Luella (Balko) Plautz. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran having served as a Staff Sergeant. He was retired from Pennsylvania Electric Company and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Concord. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Sharon Reed Plautz of the home; one son, Donald R. Plautz Jr. of Erie, Pennsylvania; one daughter, Roxanna Plautz of Concord; two sisters, Marge Leube of McKean, Pennsylvania and Sally Bolte of West Springfield, Pennsylvania; three grandchildren, Amanda Maness of Locust Grove, James Plautz of Concord and Charlie Plautz; three great grandchildren, Chandler Maness, Lillian Maness of Locust Grove and Olivia Plautz of Concord; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be Friday, May 15, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Concord with Bro. John Wofford officiating. Burial will follow in the Concord Cemetery located at Concord with arrangements by Qualls Batesville Funeral Service of Batesville. Visitation will be Thursday, May 14, 2015 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be James Plautz, Junior Maness, Jason Reed, Daren Reed, Jimmy Hallmark and Gary Bullard. Honorary pallbearers are the Senior Men’s Sunday School Class at First Baptist Church at Concord, Members of the Concord Volunteer Fire Department and Shane Reed.
