Mildred Hunter age 81 of Newark died Thursday, May 21, 2015 at her home. She was born July 27, 1933 at Whitten, Arkansas to Allie and Lillie (Minor) Garey. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband B.F. “Buck” Hunter; one son, Denver Hunter; five brothers, Edward Garey, Homer Garey, Louis Garey, Allen Garey and Billy Garey; four sisters, Hattie Seymore, Bobbie Glover, Mattie McAfee and Mary Sue Robertson and one grandson, Heath Lancaster. Survivors include four sons, Benny Hunter of Branson, Missouri, Andy Hunter and James Hunter both of Batesville and Allen Hunter of Jonesboro; two daughters, Deloris Boyett and Starla Lancaster both of Batesville; sixteen grandchildren; thirty-five great grandchildren; several great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. at the Qualls Batesville Funeral Service Chapel in Batesville with Bro. John Martin officiating. Burial will follow in the Alderbrook Cemetery located at Desha with arrangements by Qualls Batesville Funeral Service of Batesville. Visitation will be Monday, May 25, 2015 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Benjamin Hunter, Christopher Hunter, Joseph Hunter, K.G. Hunter, James Boyett and Ty Hunter. Honorary pallbearers are Brian Lancaster and Corey Hunter.
