Charles Keith Geurin age 80 of Lynn died Friday, June 5, 2015 at his home. He was born September 18, 1934 at Denton, Arkansas to Kenneth and Charletta Davis Geurin. He married Verda Mae Runyan on December 19,1958 and to this union was born two children: Debbie Geurin Smith and Charles Trent Geurin. Charles loved the Lord, his church and his family. In recent years, he had become a member of the Saffell Missionary Baptist Church where he had developed a great love for the young men who today serve as his pallbearers. Previously he had served his church as song leader for fifty-two years with a God given gift of a clear, loud voice and an ability to remember each person’s favorite song. Charles was a veteran, having served eight years in the Navy (four active and four inactive). It was during this time on the aircraft carrier, The Ticonderoga that he developed his love for flying. He was honored to have been able to serve as Commander of the Charles Walker Harris American Legion Post 129 of Lynn and he only relinquished this position because of his health. He will be remembered as 4-F: Flying, family, friends and fun!!! He greatly enjoyed being able to make someone laugh with a joke, which by the way he could never get the punch line correct. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Verda Runyan Geurin of the home; daughter, Debbie Smith and husband Terry of Annieville; son, Trent Geurin and wife Patricia of Lynn; six grandchildren, Amanda (Jason) Mathis of Jonesboro, Aaron(Shelby) Britton of Lynn, Heather Geurin of Annieville, April (Austin) Morgan of Jonesboro, Trevor Geurin of Lynn and Miranda Geurin of Lynn; one great grandchild, Stormi Briggs of Annieville; brother, Darrell (Annie) Geurin of Lynn; sister, Elaine (Virgil) Lynch of Imboden; numerous nephews, nieces and cousins along with two very special family friends: Harold Johnson and Cliff Wiese.
