James Duane Lanier

James Duane Lanier age 63 of Batesville died Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at a Batesville hospital. He was born October 16, 1951 at Batesville, Arkansas to Lynn and Victoria (Brown) Lanier. He was owner and president of Lanier Inc. and Arkansas Poultry both in Batesville. He was very active in raising cattle and raising and showing Quarter Horses. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Batesville. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife Debbie Showalter Lanier of the home; two sons, Blake Lanier and wife Kathy of Batesville and Michael Lanier and wife Katie of Prairie Grove; four grandchildren, Baylie Lanier and William Lanier both of Prairie Grove and Jack Lanier and Kate Lanier both of Batesville and a host of other relatives and friends. Private memorial services will be held. Arrangements by Qualls Batesville Funeral Service of Batesville. No visitation is planned. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Arkansas Sheriff’s Youth Ranch or Heifer International.
