Tessie Hix Caughron

Tessie Hix Caughron age 63 of Batesville died Saturday, June 27, 2015 at a Little Rock hospital. She was born December 25, 1951 at Batesville, Arkansas to William and Dollie (Shepherd) Hix. She was a retired dispatcher for Independence County and a member of the Philadelphia Missionary Baptist Church at Dowdy. She was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Caughron; her father, William Hix and one sister, Teressia Brashers. Survivors include one son, Tracy Grissom and wife Charity of Batesville; two daughters, Cindy Sherman and husband Timmy of Ward and Lois Ward and husband Calvin of Cord; her mother, Dollie Hix of Batesville; one step son, Steve Caughron of Batesville; one step daughter, Charlotte Floyd of Batesville; two brothers, William Hix and David Hix both of Cord; two sisters, Janetta Hughes of Rogers and Kathy Roach of Charlotte; six grandchildren, Amber Brownderville and husband Brett, Timothy Sherman Jr., Trisha Grissom, Haley Grissom, Tra Grissom and Kyler Grissom; six step grandchildren Derrick Ward, Rebecca Garner and husband David, Paige Floyd, Luke Floyd, Lance Caughron and Lawson Caughron; one step great grandchild, Isabella Garner; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at the Philadelphia Missionary Baptist Church located at Dowdy with Bro. Tracy Grissom officiating. Burial will follow in the Liberty Cemetery located at Gainesboro with arrangements by Qualls Batesville Funeral Service of Batesville. Visitation will be Tuesday, June 30, 2015 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be David Hix, William Hix, Timothy Sherman Jr., Kyler Grissom, Tra Grissom, and Brett Brownderville. Honorary pallbearers are Calvin Ward, Timmy Sherman and Jerry Brashers.
