Ina Faye Guthrie age 89 of Strawberry died Monday, July 6, 2015 at a Batesville hospital. She was born September 26, 1925 at Grange, Arkansas to Lane and Linda Baker Applen. She was a homemaker and a member of the Eli Lindsey Methodist Church at Jesup. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dot Guthrie; five brothers, Everett Applen, Warren Applen, Bruce Applen, Harold Applen, an infant brother and one sister, Ava Baker. Survivors include one son, Gary Guthrie and wife Karen of Cave City; one daughter, Judy Duncan and husband Noel of Jonesboro; four grandchildren, Shane Duncan of Bono, Craig Duncan of Morrilton, Ryan Herndon of Cave City and Aaron Herndon of Batesville; six great grandchildren, Aiden Duncan and Cailey Duncan both of Morrilton, Allie Duncan and Maddie Duncan both of Bono and Hayden Herndon and Haley Herndon both of Cave City; a special friend, Velda Rae Goff of Smithville; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at the Qualls Funeral Home Chapel in Cave City with grandson, Craig Duncan officiating. Eulogy will be by grandson, Shane Duncan. Burial will follow in the Lancaster Cemetery located at Strawberry with arrangements by Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City. Visitation will be Tuesday, July 7, 2015 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Ryan Herndon, Aaron Herndon, Oland Duncan, Charles Goff, Phillip Mast and David McNally. Honorary pallbearers are Larry Burrow, Melvin Creekmore, Jimmy Huskey and Darrel Smith.
