Pastor J.W. Roach age 81 of Sandtown went home to be with his Lord on Friday, August 7, 2015 at a Batesville hospital. He was born November 28, 1933 at Sandtown, Arkansas. He was the son of Jay A. & Zelma Baxter Roach. Bro. J.W. lived out his life here on earth with a great love for his Lord, his wife Wanda, family, friends and his community. He was licensed in 1959 and ordained as a Free Will Baptist minister in 1960 and continued serving The Lord preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ for 55 years with most of those years as Pastor of Pools Chapel Free Will Baptist Church at his home community of Sandtown. In addition to being a Pastor he worked in the public at the manganese mines in Cushman and the International Shoe Factory in Batesville. He mostly worked for Sun Oil (Tripp’s Gas Company) in maintenance and later pumping gas tankers before he retired. He was also a welder, built and repaired guns, knives and electronics, etc. He also enjoyed gardening, hunting and a good conversation. He always made time to visit and would help people in any way he could. He was preceded in death by his wife Wanda Campbell Roach and his parents. Survivors include his sister Mary (Roach) Holland of Sandtown, his son Joe Roach and wife Linda of Fort Worth, TX and his two daughters Janet Landers and husband Keary of Cave City and Angela D. Ring and husband Rickey also of Cave City ; 8 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren and a whole host of beloved family and friends. Funeral services will be Monday, August 10, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at the Qualls Funeral Home Chapel in Cave City with Bro. Carl Ring and Bro. Jeff Holland officiating. Burial will follow at the Lee’s Chapel Cemetery located at Sandtown with arrangements by Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City. Visitation will be Sunday, August 9, 2015 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Dustin Westmoreland, Ditzler Roach, Jeff Holland, Jason Holland, Carl Ring Eric Ring , Keary Landers and Rickey Ring
