Leland Carl Baney age 74 of Cave City died Sunday, August 16, 2015 at his home. He was born May 15, 1941 at Walnut Ridge, Arkansas to William and Dollie Ferguson Baney. He was a retired farmer and a member of the First Free Will Baptist Church in Cave City. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Maxie Baney and Walter Baney; four sisters, Bonnie Hubbard, Sarah Floyd, Mary Sue Baney and an infant sister and a son-in-law, Sgt. Jeff Richardson. Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Lourine Baney of the home; three sons, Billy Joe Baney and wife Tina of Jonesboro; Jimmy Wayne Baney of Cave City and Bobby Joe “Bo” Baney and wife Wilma of Pocahontas; four daughters, Dollie A. Baney of Ash Flat, Linda Kay Richardson Carter and husband Dwayne of Sulphur Rock, Barbara Tesch and husband Doyle of Topeka, Kansas and Polly Hernandez of Batesville; three brothers, Charles Baney of Cherry Valley, James Alfred Baney of Harrisburg and Alvin Baney of Cherokee Village; five sisters, Mary Austin of Jonesboro, Mildred Woods of Michigan, Pauline Roberson, Velma Floyd and Melissa Davis all of Trumann; seventeen grandchildren; four great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at the First Free Will Baptist Church in Cave City with Bro. Bill Sagely officiating. Burial will follow in the Cave City Cemetery located at Cave City with arrangements by Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City. Visitation will be Tuesday, August 18, 2015 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be James Baney Jr., Zachary Baney, Sean Shannon, Corey Shannon, John Ables and Robert Cheshier. Honorary pallbearers are his grandsons.
