Betty Jean McHatton age 83 of Cave City died Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at the Cave City Nursing Home. She was born April 26, 1932 at Evening Shade, Arkansas to George C. and Maureen Evans Ring. She was an LPN, attended Geyer Springs First Baptist Church in Little Rock for many years and was a member of the First Missionary Baptist Church in Cave City. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Walter McHatton; one son, Dennis McHatton; four brothers, Arvin Ring, Vertis Ring, Billy Don Ring and Verbel Ring and one granddaughter, Jessica Nicole Goodman. Survivors include one son, Clifford Welcher of Cave City; one daughter, Donna Goodman of Cave City; three brothers, George Ring Jr. of Florida, Jerry Ring of Pocahontas and Mack Ring of Malvern; three sisters, Kathy Palmer, Glenda McDaniel and Debbie Ring all of Jonesboro; six grandchildren, Clifford Alan Welcher of Arkadelphia, Jeff Welcher of Batesville, Carla LeBlanc of Cave City, Amanda Webb of Batesville, Demetria Goodman of Cave City and Stacy McBride of Alexandria, Virginia; eleven great grandchildren, Lacy Welcher, Conner Welcher, Kristen Homer, Kaleb Homer, Hannah Welcher, Hailey Webb, Kaylan Watson, Kaya LeBlanc, Zion LeBlanc, Irie LeBlanc and Mosiah LeBlanc; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be Saturday, August 22, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at the Qualls Funeral Home Chapel in Cave City with Bro. Danny Bradley and Bro. Wayne Goodman officiating. Burial will follow in the Evening Shade Cemetery located at Evening Shade with arrangements by Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City. Visitation will be Friday, August 21, 2015 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Clifford Alan Welcher, Jeff Welcher, Kaleb Homer, Michael LeBlanc, Ricky Gibson and Michael Ring. Honorary pallbearers are Brandon McBride and the First Missionary Baptist Church Adult Sunday School Class.
