Rev. Lonnie Palmer, Jr. age 83 of Allen, Oklahoma died Sunday, August 23, 2015 in Ada, Oklahoma. He was born March 9, 1932 in Pfieffer, Arkansas to Lonnie and Minnie Williams Palmer. He came to the Allen area in 2000. He married Lillian Bernice Crow on September 12, 1951. She preceded him in death in 2012. He received his degree from Free Will Bible College in Nashville, Tennessee. Rev. Palmer served as a Free Will Baptist Missionary to the Koulango, of Ivory Coast, Africa for 43 years. He formed the association of Free Will Baptist Churches of Ivory Coast, translated The Old Testament into the Koulango language, and founded the Free Will Baptist Bible Institute of Ivory Coast. Survivors include two sons, Steve Palmer of Greenwood, Indiana and Stanley Palmer of Little Rock, Arkansas; two daughters, Kathy Pittman of Norman, Oklahoma and Marion Patterson of Lubbock, Texas; nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; three great great-grandchildren and one sister, Juanita Fulbright of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Funeral services in Allen, Oklahoma will be held Wednesday, August 26, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at the Bethel Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Lonnie DeVoult officiating. Arrangements by Criswell Funeral Home in Ada, Oklahoma. Funeral services in Batesville, Arkansas will be held Friday, August 28, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at the Qualls Batesville Funeral Service Chapel in Batesville. Burial will follow in the Oaklawn Cemetery located at Batesville with arrangements by Qualls Batesville Funeral Service of Batesville. Visitation will be Thursday, August 27, 2015 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the Qualls Batesville Funeral Service Chapel in Batesville. Pallbearers will be grandsons.
