Vonda Johnston age 72 of Batesville died Saturday, September 12, 2015 at a Batesville hospital. She was born May 26, 1943 at Mt. Pleasant, Arkansas to Kenneth and Mary Edith Ruminer. She was retired from White Rodgers in Batesville, was a Grandma at West Elementary in Batesville and was a member of First Free Will Baptist Church in Batesville. She was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth Ruminer and her husband, Eddie Joe Johnston. Survivors include two sons, Scotty Johnston of Rosie and Brian Johnston of Batesville; her mother, Edith Ruminer of Batesville; one brother, Ronnie Ruminer of Batesville; two sisters, Shay King of Batesville and Ina Provence of Cave City; one granddaughter, Megan Johnston of Batesville; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be Tuesday, September 15, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Free Will Baptist Church in Batesville with Bro. Ben Ryan officiating. Burial will follow in the Egner Cemetery located at Salado with arrangements by Qualls Batesville Funeral Service of Batesville. Visitation will be Tuesday, September 15, 2015 from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the church. Pallbearers will be Billy Hall, Connor Caldwell, Ransom Pogue, John Clements, Jerry Taylor and Ronnie Defreece. Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Ron Bates and Dr. Athan Stoyioglou
