Vila Wanda Russell Arnold

Vila Wanda Russell Arnold age 91 of Searcy, Arkansas went to be with the Lord on Friday, September 25, 2015 at the White County Medical Center in Searcy. Wanda was born on February 10, 1924 in Poughkeepsie, Arkansas to Houston and Martha Russell. She was the fourth of five children. She attended Arkansas College then taught school and had various other jobs. She was a talented seamstress. She did beautiful embroidery. She loved the Lord and was a faithful Christian and a faithful member of the College Church of Christ. She was a wonderful loving and caring mother. She appreciated Noel Whitlock for coming to her hospital bedside for prayer. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Owen Russell and Zealin Russell; two sisters, Helen Townsend and Nila Truitt. She was the widow of Eugene Arnold, whom she married on September 20, 1947. Survivors include one son, Paul Arnold of Searcy; one daughter, Jo Ann Arnold; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at the Qualls Funeral Home Chapel in Cave City with Bro. Dan Newsom officiating. Burial will follow in the Evening Shade Cemetery located at Evening Shade with arrangements by Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City. Visitation will be Wednesday, September 30, 2015 from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Kevin Eads, Craig Deen, Gene Williams and Jim Brown.
