Boyce Ray Wood

Boyce Ray Wood age 90 of Cushman died Sunday, October 18, 2015 at the Cave City Nursing Home. He was born June 23, 1925 at Lepanto, Arkansas to Joseph Edwin and Maggie (Thurlo) Wood. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of WWII and of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Lavon Baxter Wood; one son, Larry Wood; three brothers, John Wood, Harry Wood and Walter Wood; four sisters, Agnes Tosh, Fay Woody, Audrey McMahan and Georgie Cooper and two grandsons, Jody Wood and Brandon Wood. Survivors include one son, Michael Wood and wife Fran of Cushman; a daughter-in-law, Becky Wood of Cushman; three grandchildren, Jennifer Caraway and husband Chavin, Tiffany Williams and husband Terry and Jesse Wood and wife Paige; two great grandchildren, Katie Williams and Clancey Caraway; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be Friday, October 23, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at the Qualls Batesville Funeral Service Chapel in Batesville with Rev.Carl Blankenship officiating. Burial will follow in the Lee’s Chapel Cemetery located at Sandtown with arrangements by Qualls Batesville Funeral Service of Batesville. Visitation will be Thursday, October 22, 2015 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Jesse Wood, Jason Wood, David Simpson, Anthony Cowden, Terry Williams and Chavin Caraway. Honorary pallbearers are Wesley Tosh, Alan Wood and Steve McMahan.
