Mercedes "Sadie" Medlock

Mercedes “Sadie” Medlock age 18 of Poughkeepsie died Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at the Arkansas Children’s Hospital in Little Rock. She was born July 28, 1997 at Searcy , Arkansas the daughter of Ken and Shelly Medlock. She was a 2014 graduate of Cave City High School and currently a cosmetology student at UACCB in Batesville. She was Miss Teen Arkansas in 2014 and Arkansas Children’s Hospital Ambassador in 2010. She enjoyed rodeos, barrel racing, pageants, hunting and fishing. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Carl Shaver. Survivors include her parents, Ken and Shelly Medlock of Poughkeepsie; paternal grandparents, Mike and Vickie Medlock of Poughkeepsie; maternal grandparents, Brenda Shaver and Joe Uecker of Lake Jackson Texas and Cheryl Shaver of Melbourne; and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be Saturday, October 24, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Missionary Baptist Church in Cave City with Bro. Lance Hames and Bro. Bill Sagely officiating. Burial will follow in the Spotts Cemetery located at Poughkeepsie with arrangements by Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City. Visitation will be Friday, October 23, 2015 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the First Missionary Baptist Church in Cave City. Pallbearers will be Lane Medlock, Matthew Melton, Garrett Haley, Justin Conway, Paul Shaver and Jimmy McCracken. Honorary pallbearers are Brody Medlock, Ed Smith and Richard Battles.
