Evelyn Nadine Harmon Qualls age 85 of Evening Shade died Saturday, October 31, 2015 at the White River Medical Center in Batesville. She was born May 13, 1930 at Batesville, Arkansas, the daughter of Matt Earnheart Harmon and Gracie Lou (Hamilton) Harmon. She was united in marriage to Leo Millard (Doc) Qualls Sr. on September 19, 1948. She was a retired cafeteria supervisor and cook at the Evening Shade Schools for 26 years. She was a sports fan and especially enjoyed the Evening Shade Tigers, the Arkansas Razorbacks and the Chicago Bulls. She was a Christian and was a member of the Piney Fork Church of Christ in Evening Shade. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 23 years, Leo Millard (Doc) Qualls Sr.; three brothers, Matt (Bugsy) Harmon Jr., Ralph Harmon and Charles (Cotton) Harmon and four sisters, Lou Ellen Ford, Wanda Caldwell, Shirley Smith and Bertha Harmon. Survivors include three daughters, Lou Ann Cushman (Scott) of Evening Shade, Annette Sharp (Dwight) of Evening Shade and Sharon Qualls of Little Rock; a son, Leo Millard Qualls Jr. (Ellen Lavera) of Evening Shade; seven grandchildren, Jill Martin of Edmond, Oklahoma, Aaron Cushman of Cave City, Angie Haley of Evening Shade, Tim Sharp of Grain Valley, Missouri, Jason Qualls of Sidney, Jesse Qualls of Centerton and Cody Qualls of Evening Shade; thirteen great grandchildren, Jessica Smart, Amelia Martin, Hallie Martin, Quin Martin, Evvy Martin, Josh Sharp, Jacob Sharp, Clayton Sharp, Lilly Sharp, Katy Cushman, Emma Cushman, Addison Qualls and Bella Qualls; one brother, Robert Dale Harmon of Floral; and host of other relatives and friends. Memorial services will be held Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at 6:30 p.m. at the Burt Reynolds Gymnasium in Evening Shade with son-in-law, Dwight Sharp officiating. Visitation with the family will be held immediately following the memorial service. A private burial will be held at the Williams Cemetery in Evening Shade. Pallbearers will be Aaron Cushman, Tim Sharp, Jason Qualls, Jesse Qualls, Cody Qualls, Monty Haley, Darin Martin, Angie Haley, Jill Martin and Ben Rogers. Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Robert Walton and all former faculty and staff at the Evening Shade School.
