Irene Yost age 94 of Batesville died Sunday, November 8, 2015 at a Batesville hospital. She was born October 27, 1921 at Floral, Arkansas to Clarence Elmer and Lena Pearl (Dossett) Altom. She was a retired nurse having worked several years at the North Arkansas Clinic in Batesville. She was a charter member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Batesville. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Leonard Yost and two brothers, Vic Altom and Nolan Altom. Survivors include one son, Terry Yost Sr. of Rogers; one daughter, Linda McNeill of Batesville; one brother, W. T. Altom of Concord; two sisters, Gearline Whitener of Batesville and Glenna Wommock of Indianapolis, Indiana ; five grandchildren; six great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; one step-granddaughter; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 10, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at the Calvary Baptist Church in Batesville with Bro. Randy Scott and Bro. Larry Poff officiating. Burial will follow in the Oaklawn Cemetery located at Batesville with arrangements by Qualls Batesville Funeral Service of Batesville. Visitation will be Tuesday, November 10, 2015 from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the church. Pallbearers will be Andy Edwards, Terry Yost Jr., Brady Suttle, Dennis Whitener, Roger Whitener and Phil Fugett. Honorary pallbearers are Cleon Womock, Max Rutledge, John Ellis Special Friend:Ernestine Boyce and her McDonald’s Friends.
