Remmel Ray age 77 of Mt. Pleasant died Sunday, December 6, 2015 at his home. He was born May 14, 1938 at Mt. Pleasant, Arkansas to Robert Alf and Ada Mae McCracken Ray. He was U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War having retired with 21 years of service. After leaving the service he drove a bus for the civil service for 13 years, drove a tour bus for 2 years, worked for Lowes Hardware in Elizabethtown, Kentucky and worked for Tripp’s Supply in Batesville. He attended the Cornerstone Baptist Church in Mt. Pleasant. He was preceded in death by his father and his wife, Mary Ray. Survivors include his mother Ada Mae Ray of Melbourne; one sister, Barbara Wood Collie of Mt. Pleasant; a nephew, Jason Wood of Cushman; two nieces, Sonya Garver and Angie Fulbright both of Cushman; and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be Friday, December 11, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at the Qualls Batesville Funeral Service Chapel in Batesville with Bro. Elvis Sneathern officiating. Burial will be in the Hebron Cemetery in Shepherdsville, Kentucky. Arrangements by Qualls Batesville Funeral service of Batesville. Visitation will be Friday, December 11, 2015 from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. Honorary pallbearers are the Employees of Tripp Supply and Baxter Haley.
