Mordecai Jessie Marlin age 83 of Cave City died Friday, December 18, 2015 at the Cave City Nursing Home. He was born April 8, 1932 at Cave City, Arkansas to Jessie Henderson and Ollie Mae (Willis) Marlin. He was a retired Game Warden having retired in 1994 from the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission with 26 years of service. He was a member of the Center 402 Masonic Lodge at Charlotte and a member of the First Free Will Baptist Church in Cave City. He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Becky Goodwin; five brothers, Ernest Marlin, Ruil Marlin, Tomy Marlin, Malachi Marlin and Cannon Marlin; three sisters, Zelma Crumley, Allene Davis and Lois Stout and one grandson, Zack Watkins. Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Joy Horn Marlin of the home; one son Mordecai Scott Marlin of Cave City; two daughters, Cynthia Westmoreland of Cave City and Tammy Ferrell of Bethesda; one brother, Colonel D. Marlin of Cave City; two sisters, Bertie Wilson of Cave City and Donnie Ring of Batesville; eight grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be Monday, December 21, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at the First Free Will Baptist Church in Cave City with Bro. Bill Sagely and Bro. Ronald Gene Marlin officiating. Burial will follow in the Cave City Cemetery located at Cave City with arrangements by Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City. Visitation will be Sunday, December 20, 2015 from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the First Free Will Baptist Church in Cave City. Pallbearers will be Derek Marlin, Colten Marlin, Dustin Westmoreland, Seth Westmoreland, Johnny Gott, Will Carlile, Elvis Poe and Jamie Chandler. Honorary pallbearers are Anita Simpson, Brittany Webb, Danielle Crafton, Doris Jennings, Lydia Duncan, Erica Haigwood and Jeannie Trawyk.
