Melvin V. Patterson age 89 of Batesville died Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at his home. He was born June 23, 1926 at Batesville, Arkansas to Henry and Millie Greenfield Patterson. He was retired from Arkansas Power and Light and was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII. He was a member of West Baptist Church in Batesville where he served as a deacon. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Floy Simko. Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Edith Franks Patterson of the home; two daughters, Andrea Albert of Batesville and Vonita Luster of Rogers; one sister, O.V. Henley of Charlotte; five grandchildren, Daniel Ballard, Desiree Davis, Jacob Albert, Mary Beth Luster and Mollie Anne Luster; five great grandchildren, Gabriel Simmons, Madison Simmons, Corbin Davis, Nicole Davis and Eva Davis; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be Saturday, December 26, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at the West Baptist Church in Batesville with Bro. Randy Maxwell, Bro. Bob Dailey and Bro. Cory Majors officiating. Burial will follow in the Oaklawn Cemetery located at Batesville with arrangements by Qualls Batesville Funeral Service of Batesville. \ Visitation will be Saturday, December 26, 2015 from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the church. Pallbearers will be Darrell Elms, Randy Luster, Joe Albert, Ronnie Love, Winfred Franks, Doug Franks and Danny Franks. Honorary pallbearers are Michael Franks, Jimmy Franks, Dr. Robert Walton, Randy Henley, Danny Henley, Michael Henley, Veryl Elms, Bobby Joe Franks, Steve Cuzzort, Bill R. Luster and West Baptist Church Deacons.
