Helen Bess Drake

Bess Drake age 87 of Concord died Sunday, December 27, 2015 at her home. She was born February 25, 1928 at Marcella, Arkansas to Ross Lee King and Gertrude Patterson King. She was retired from Land O’ Frost in Searcy and was a member of the New Bethel Baptist Church in Floral. She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Angela Janette Drake Rodgers; one sister; two grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Survivors include six sons, Dickey Drake and wife Sheila of Newark, Vick Drake of Thida, Rickey Drake of Charlotte, Mickey Drake and wife Linda of Concord, Nickey “Bobo” Drake of Pangburn and David Drake and wife Renee of Hickory Flat; two brothers, Warren “Jack” Hess of Marietta, Georgia and Randall King of Mountain View; seventeen grandchildren; thirty- three great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at the New Bethel Baptist Church at Floral with Bro. Randy Altom officiating. Burial will follow in the Philadelphia Cemetery located at Sunnydale with arrangements by Qualls Batesville Funeral Service of Batesville. Visitation will be Tuesday, December 29, 2015 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Devin Reed, Jace Drake, Todd Drake, Shawn Drake, Evan Whaley, Nathan Rains, Robert Whaley, Charles Moser and Roger Atkins.
