John Michael Scranton Sr.

John Michael Scranton Sr. age 30 of Cave City died Thursday, December 31, 2015 at a Batesville hospital. He was born December 6, 1985 at Des Peres, Missouri, the son of Timothy Allen Scranton and Dianne Medows Scranton Pallardy. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals and UFC fan. He was employed by Third Street Farm Supply in Batesville before being diagnosed with cancer. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Gus and Nova “Granny” Medows; paternal grandmother, Joan Scranton; infant brother, Jamie Medows; infant nephew, John Henry Scranton; cousin, Rhonda Smith; three uncles, Buddy Medows, Joe Medows, Tracy Medows Sr. and brother-in-law, Eric Smart. Survivors include his wife Codi Crafton Scranton of the home; two sons, Joseph Crafton and John Michael Scranton Jr.; his father, Tim Scranton of Texas; his mother, Dianne Pallardy of Cave City; one brother, Michael J. Pallardy Jr. of Calico Rock; one sister, Amanda JoVell Smart of Cave City; his paternal grandfather, Allen Scranton of Illinois; his beloved dog, Lou; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Memorial services will be held Saturday, January 9, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at the Qualls Funeral Home Chapel in Cave City with Brandon Mize officiating. Arrangements by Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City. Visitation will be Saturday, January 9, 2016 from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. Honorary pallbearers are his sons, Joseph Crafton and John Michael Scranton Jr.; brothers, Michael Pallardy Jr. and Teddy Spurgeon and brother-in-law, Steve Crafton. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Ribbons of Hope through Batesville Oncology.
