Edward Clark Lindsey Jr., known as “Sonny” by his siblings, age 93 of Batesville died Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at the Cave City Nursing Home after being diagnosed with congestive heart failure five months earlier. He was born on January 20, 1922 at Corry, Pennsylvania to Edward Clark Lindsey Sr. and Beatrice Mary (Nelson) Lindsey, the eldest of 11 children, 3 of whom are still living. He served with distinction as a United States Marine during WWII from July 23, 1941- Sept. 27, 1945. He was preceded in death by his parents and seven siblings. Survivors include his wife Agnes (Garland) Lindsey; five children of deceased wife, Eva West, three sons, Bruce Lindsey, Harry Lindsey, Richard Lindsey and two daughters, Karen (Lindsey) Vinson and June (Lindsey) Krenzelok; five stepsons, Edward Lee, Donald Lee, Ronald Lee, Bobby Case and Teddy Case; one step-daughter, Kathleen Case; one brother, Harold Lindsey; two sisters, Anna Wyant and Helen Smith; five grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. Graveside memorial services will be held Friday, January 8, 2016 at 12:00 at the Arkansas State Veteran’s Cemetery in North Little Rock, Arkansas with military honors.
